I have been ridiculed at OTM for suggesting that the billionaire owner of the Boston Red Sox is taking advantage of his fanbase by nickel and diming all winter, and worrying about luxury tax.

It amazes me that new age baseball observers (I.E. Bill James followers) are all for the owner cutting back on salary. They think that the Carlos Silva's of the world are the way to go. Why spend for a quality pitcher like Kuroda, never mind, C.J. Wilson. They wouldn't even sign Kuroda for a one year deal.

The last time I checked,9 hundred and ninty nine million dollars,is one million short of a billion, and you know he has more then that. This soccer thing is something that Sox fans should be furious about, but you don't hear many complaints. Meanwhile, all the team needed, to have a legit chance at a title this year, was one quality starter and a significant upgrade in RF. They did neither. Shame on Them!Robertnoreply@blogger.com
